Joined Together in Death

Here we have an Aztec Pyramid. Over 500 years ago they performed human sacrifices to various gods at it. 1 of those gods specifically required children. According to Fernando de Alva Cortés Ixtlilxochitl, an Aztec descendant & the author of the Codex Ixtlilxochitl, 1 in 5 children of the Mexica subjects was killed annually. They were offered to Tlaloc who was a god of rain, fertility, & water. He was both a beneficent god who gave life & sustenance, but he was also feared for his ability to send hail, thunder & lightning, as well as for being the lord of the powerful element of water. He required the tears of the young so their tears would wet the earth. As a result, priests made children cry before the infanticidal ritual sacrifice, sometimes by tearing off their nails.

Now lets fast forward to 2010 & a little further North to Houston. TX.

This is a picture Houston's new Planned Parenthood supercenter. The $26 million,78,000 square-foot project, dubbed Prevention Park Health Center, was open in May. Talk about a sick & twisted name. But it is also truth in advertising as the unborn children who enter there will most likely be prevented from ever coming out alive. 1 portion is called the Dysplasia Clinic. The clinic is appropriately named as dysplasia is a term used in pathology to refer to an abnormality of development. & this place is definitely an patholigical abnormality. It does 2nd trimester abortions. & in keeping with PP's anti-family values, they do not provide childcare services for their clients. Since PP's agenda is to eliminate children, & esp those of minorities found in the neighborhood where this building is, why would they care about the few that got away?

This post was inspired by something Fr. Euteneuer wrote in his new book Demonic Abortion about how similar the buildings used in 2 "cultures of death" to kill were. & as you can see, he is right. A similar mindset has produced a similar architectural design. But in a way we are even worse. The Aztecs only sacrificed 1 in 5 children to their rain god. Here in the USA we have sacrificed 1 in 3 children at the altar of abortion. (Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust)
But I believe there is hope that we can win. Just as God used Mary (Our Lady of Guadelupe) to bring about a conversion of the Aztecs to Catholicism & put an end to the horrible human sacrifices, I believe God will do the same today. Again, it has to be done through prayer as well as action. See Fr. Pavone's article Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Pro-life Movement & the Knights for Life website for more on this.
As I said, there is hope. God has won the ultimate victory by Jesus' death on the Cross. & that means we can be assured that in the end our efforts to defeat the demonic "culture of death" will be victorious in the end as well. But we must do our part. As I said before, that means starting & ending with prayer as well as undergirding our efforts with prayer as well.
