I am going to start by admiting this rant has been set of by a variety of times over the past few days where I have had people call those who are Pro-life, anti abortion, but those who are pr0-abortion, pro-choice.
I am sick of the cop out that using the term pro-choice is when it comes to abortion. Everyone is pro-choice when it comes to something or other. For instance what is your choice of beverages? Are you opposed to people making their own choice, or are you pro-choice? If you arder a steak you have the right to chose how it is done, rare or medium or well. You can chose the color of your car if you buy a new 1. Do I have to go on?
However when it comes to talking about pro-lifers we are labeled anti-abortion. True, as far as it goes, part of it is that we are against abortion, but that is because we ARE Pro-life. & we do more than try to stop abortion. We support Crisis Pregnancy Centers, we support groups like Silent No More that offer healing & forgiveness to men & women who have participated in an abortion. I could go on & on. Those who label us anti-abortion know it is much more than that. But they know the term is a perjorative that will demonize us, like the lies that we are the violent ones as well.
But when you use the term pro-choice to talk about those who are in opposition to us it isn't chosing a steak or hamburger it is chosing to have an abortion that is the choice you are talking about the woman making.

Operation Rescue has a page entitled What Is Abortion? that shows more pictures as well as a graphic video. They also have their Truth Truck that travels arround the nation. (The Truth Truck & the Face the Truth signs were with us when we down in CR protesting Cecile Richards last month.)
& lest we forget, there is the video that started it all, Silent Scream.
There are many more places on the web that also show what an abortion is. So I ask anyone who may want to use the term pro-choice to answer me the following before you use the term: "Is the choice you are talking about abortion?" Then go to any of the sites, look at the pictures or video & tell me: "Is this what you mean by abortion?"

It's "pro-choice" and "anti-abortion" becuase that's the language imposed by the abortion advocates and their supporters in the media.
Propaganda 101 teaches that you can sway a debate by controlling language. So they wanted their side to be called something positive sounding - pro and choice - and the other side called by negative terms - anti and abortion.
I used to work in a newsroom and I remember when the dictate was handed down about what language to use when reporting on abortion. When I was raised questions, I was told that was the policy and I had to follow it. Period. By the way, the president of the trustees for the local affiliates where I worked was also the head of the local Planned Parenthood.

I know Lee, I guess I should have added that lesson about Propaganda 101 . So grazie for bringing it up.
As for the media, 1 of the users of pro-choice for abortion supporters I was referencing was from the local media & what he said to me last week.
When I was in college I worked for both the College newspaper & the college radio station. 1 thing I was taught by the paper editor was to go forth the truth, accurately. Something that seems to be sorely missing in the main stream media these days.
PS I am not surprized by the incestuous relationship between the local affiliates where you worked & PP.

The term pro-choice is used because people support women having full and open choice, which includes abortion as one aspect.
The term anti-abortion is used because people are against abortion, attempt to stop women having a choice which includes abortion, and would like to see abortion re-criminalized.
The term pro-life is a bit of a misnomer as lack of choice can, in some circumstances, cause death. There is also the fact that some people who claim to be 'pro-life' also support the death penalty and are against gun control. I do not make this assertion against you, I said 'some'.
Shall I post some nice photos of full-term deliveries of grossly malformed or debilitated infants? How about some of women who have suffered severe complications at dull-term delivery? Maybe you would like some of fistulas? Or perhaps of women who have died because their faith prevented blood transfusions?

Eric, so apparently the answer is YES, these pictures are what you mean when you say you are pro-abortion. Hope you enjoy have the blood of all those unborn children ion your hands. I will be praying for your conversion & repentance before you die so that you won't spend eternity in Hell. May God have mercy on your soul.
