Queen Nancy facing A Rebellion By Pro-Life Members of Congress
It is beginning to look like it won't be as easy to slip tthrough abortion coverage as Speaker Pelosi & the rest of the pro-abortion gang thought. Their highhanded attempts to keep votes from coming up that would ensure that claims abortion is not a part of ObamaCare are beginning to backfire.
Pro-Life Representative Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) met with Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday. He has been critical of the Capps Amendment which Time magazine, the Associated Press & the nonpartisan FactCheck web site have confirmed does allow taxpayer-funded abortions. . Yet even after the meeting a Pelosi aide continues to claim the Capps Amendment will ensure that no federal money to be used to pay for abortion services.
Yet, Stupak & 25 other Pro-Life Democrats are not buying that. In a letter signed by them & 158 Republicans says that the Capps Amendment" "actually explicitly authorizes the federal government (Department of Health and Human Services) to directly fund elective abortions, with federal (public) funds drawn on a federal Treasury account."
It goes on to say: "The simple fact is that under the Capps language, the US Treasury will be permitted to issue checks to abortion clinics to reimburse for abortion on demand for the first time in decades."
& while 25 members signed the letter, Stupak warned Pelosi that up to 40 Democrats will support his efforts to get an amendment co-sponsored by Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) & Stupak. Stupak has made it clear that, if he does not get an assurance that House members can vote for his amendment, he & as many as 40 Democrats will join House Republicans to vote against the rules for debate on the bill as well as the bill itself.
It is getting more & more difficult for Obama, pelosi & Reid to say that it is the Republicans who are refusing to cooperate. The fact that the House committee has blocked vote after vote that would answer Pro-life concerns & Sen. Reid's threats to do an end-run arround the fillibuster are making it clear which side is trying to railroad things through & is unwilling to work with the other side. & it isn't the Republicans in Congress.
It is the Pro-abortion side that is doing all it can to lie & mislead, all the while ensuring that every US taxpayer will be forced to pay for the murder of thousands of unborn daily. & that pro-choice is actual pro-1 choice only, abortion. & all the while telling us that we are forcing our beliefs on those who support abortion they are very much willing to ensure that the same respect is not afforded to those who oppose abortion.
It will be interesting to see how things finally play out. But it is clear that the more Queen Nancy, Prince Harry & the Obamessiah try & ram things through the more it will just backfire. let's hope that by the time the realize that fact it will be before they get what they want through.
