Another Example of What Abortion Supporters Consider Civility
They didn't like the message so they attack the messenger, a 69 year old woman. 1st by using obscenities, then by physical violence. Yet, time & time again, Pro-Lifers are the ones who are called violent.
For abortion supporters, behaving with civility is shutting us up by any means neccesary, including violence. Esp when we show the truth about an abortion & what it does to the child. & the fact that this was a 69 yr old that was attacked also shows how little the pro-abortion/"culture of death" side respects life in general. I was raised to show respect for the elderly. & even if I disagreed this was never acceptable behavior.
However, because they don't like the message, anything we say about abortion they call a lack of civility. The hate posters like the 1 this woman was carrying, yet they will scream censorship at anyone who tries to keep worse off of early evening TV. Maybe a few would, but how many of them would stop their children from going to a slasher movie?
1 other thing that I don't think we can change for most of the Main Stream Media, but would like to is the way they define the Pro-Life movement as anti-abortion. Yes that is a part of Pro-Life, but it is much more. By letting them define us, they can st the agenda. But we can & must fight back so that we define the agenda.
Notice the diference in the 2 articles below about the incident that makes my point about the way the MSM treats things versus the Catholic News Agency. CNA calls the victim pro-life. Then it gets even better. Or worse. The MSN article depersonalizes him by not only not mentioning his names, it doesn't identify the victim by gender either. & even though it left their names out as well, the MSM article is at least honest on how the women behaved. But why didn't it mention their names? Also, notice the glaring difference it what the MSM says was on the sign compared to what the CNA reports.
Flagstaff, Ariz., Sep 21, 2009 / 06:04 pm (CNA).- Pro-life activist Johnny Wallace, 69, was attacked on Friday by two women as he stood holding two signs in front of City Hall in Flagstaff, Arizona. The women, both 48, yelled profanities at him, attempted to take his signs and wrestled him to the ground.
On the day of the attack, Wallace, who daily protests in front of City Hall, held two text-only signs. According to Operation Rescue, the signs said, “Abortion kills more black Americans in four days than the Klan killed in 150 years,” and the other, “Life begins at conception and ends at Planned Parenthood."
The two women who accosted Wallace were identified as Denise Redsteer and Laura Chapman. According to Northern Arizona Today, Wallace was knocked to the ground as he attempted to protect his signs from one of the women. The other woman then joined in the struggle.
Wallace was treated for minor injuries after the incident by medics called to the scene. Redsteer and Chapman were cited and released on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage.
Operation Rescue President Troy Newman released a statement on Monday commenting that Wallace was only “exercising his God-given rights as an American citizen when he was brutally assaulted because his attackers disagreed with his beliefs."
“This attack is especially disturbing because the motivation for the attack on Mr. Wallace was the same motivation that caused Harlan Drake to murder Jim Pouillon," Newman added.
Newman said that he believes there is “an increasing attitude that it is okay to hurt pro-life people if one does not agree with them. This disturbing trend must stop.”
"We are thankful that Mr. Wallace was not hurt worse than he was, and pray that the violence against pro-life activists will come to an end," he stated.

An anti-abortion protester, who is a regular fixture on Route 66 in front of City Hall, was attacked by two women during the lunch hour Friday.According to information from the Flagstaff Police Department, the 69-year-old victim was standing in front of City Hall with a graphic sign of an aborted fetus when he was approached by the two women. According to witnesses, the two women began to yell profanities at the victim. One woman kicked the sign and tried to take it. The victim tried to protect the sign and took the woman to the ground. While the two were on the ground fighting, the second woman joined the fray and tried to take the sign. The victim had to fight the other woman off as well.
Paramedics arrived on scene to treat minor injuries.
The two women, both 48, were cited and released on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage.
The charges will be heard by a Flagstaff Magistrate Court judge.
