Monday I put up a post that I entitled Tiller: Making A Murderer a Martyr. Here is the headline of an article from the Tuesday 2 June 2009 Washington Times: Slain abortion doctor mourned as 'martyr'.
The statements made will nauseate you:
"This is about the loss of a man who was a saint and a martyr. He was a prayerful man who put his life at risk to protect others and died for it." - Very Rev. Katherine Ragsdale, president of Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge
This is the 1st time I have every heard heroic virtue defined as killing the most helpless of the helpless, the unborn & having it described as protecting others. He didn't protect others, he murdered them.
then there are these 2 quotes, from a rabbi no less:
Tiller "joins the list of martyrs for ethical decency and human rights, killed for healing with compassion."
He was "a religious martyr in the fullest classical sense, killed in his own church as he arrived to worship, killed for acting in accord with his religious commitments and his moral and ethical choices." - Reconstructionist Rabbi Arthur Waskow of the Philadelphia-based Shalom Center
Rabbi, do you realized that by what you said you just condoned Mengele, Hilter & the Holocaust? Mengele did what he did in the name of healing. Hitler did what he did in accordance to his moral & ethical choices. Yes, so did Tiller. But any choice that allows for the slaughter of untold millions is neither moral or ethical.
