Susan B. Anthony List Issues Lia's Challenge

Lia’s Challenge: Pro-Life Film Contest

When 12 year-old Lia Mills wrote her speech about abortion for a school contest, she had no idea the kind of impact it would have worldwide. Yet after her mother put the speech on YouTube, it garnered over a half a million views!
The greatest source of energy and potential the pro-life movement has is its youth. Youth have a unique perspective and voice, giving them an incredible ability to change hearts and minds. They are steadfast in their beliefs and want to share them with others! Now, Lia is challenging other young people to send in their videos and spread the pro-life message.
The SBA List wants to provide our nation’s youth with the opportunity to do just that. This new contest will award two winning videos with a $1,000 scholarship and will be featured in a Susan B. Anthony online campaign!

Lia's Challenge Contest Rules and Information
Contestants will create a 2-5 minute pro-life video on the topic of their choosing. The video does NOT have to be of the student giving a speech -- you may be creative!
Suggested topics:
- Discuss the importance of involving pro-life women in politics
- Choose a pro-life heroine and explain why you admire her
- Address the issues of the abortion bailout and taxpayer funding of abortion
You do not have to follow these topics. They are simply some ideas to get you started!
Entries are separated into two age groups: 12 years-old and younger and 13 to 18 years-old.

Multiple students may submit a video as a group, as long as each student submits a completed entry form signed by a parent or guardian. The winning prize will be divided equally among the students, should their video be chosen.

One video from each age group will win a $1,000 prize and will be featured in a Susan B. Anthony List online issue advocacy campaign.

Videos will be judged on the following criteria
- Creativity
- Persuasive impact
- Ability to move the audience
In order for your video to be considered you must post the video as a response on YouTube (see directions below). Each contestant must allow download and complete the official contest entry form and send it to:
1800 North Kent Street
Suite 1070
ArlingtonVA 22209
All entry forms must be received and all videos posted by May 22, 2009
