A Heavenly Proclamation of Today's Gospel

Introducing the Crown of Thorns Galaxy:

This is a newly released picture of NGC 7049, a mysterious looking galaxy on the border between spiral and elliptical galaxies. It is located in the constellation of Indus, or the Indian, in the southern sky. This picture was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Hubble captured this image using its Advanced Camera for Surveys. That camera is primed to hunt galaxies and galaxy clusters in the remote and ancient universe.
The halo, a ghostly region of diffuse light surrounding the galaxy, is composed of myriads of individual stars and provides a luminous background to the swirling ring of dust lanes surrounding NGC 7049's core.
Once again we see the truth of God's Word reflected in the Heavens. As Psalm 19:1 says: "The heavens declare the glory of God,the vault of heaven proclaims his handiwork." & as St. Paul reminds us: "ever since the creation of the world, the invisible existence of God and his everlasting power have been clearly seen by the mind's understanding of created things." Romans 1:20
