We're Not Gonna Let You Take It From Us

The last few days there has been several posts about a group that calls themselves Oath Keepers. I have found what they have to say is important enough to add my blog to those making people aware of what they are doing.

My maternal grandparents were immigrants from Italia. They came over because of the promise of freedom & hope that this country offered. Grandpa Stasi served in the US Army during WW I. My Dad went in during WW II & spent 22+ years in the Air Force (Tech Sgt). I have a deep love for my country, for what it offered, for what it was ment to be & what it can be. (FYI for those out there that don't understand what I just said, I am talking about the virtue of patriotism.) I believe that it was founded on solid Christian principles that we are fast abandoning. That is why I am sharing this info.

From their website:

"Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic … and meant it. (emphasis mine)

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and that oath will be kept. We won’t 'just follow orders.'"

They see the USA today at a point just like that that General Washington was talking about in the above quote. "Such a time is near at hand again. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this Army - and this Marine Corps, This Air Force, This Navy and the National Guard units of these sovereign states." They are aware that not all of our enemies are out there, there are people working in the USA to undermine the Constitution & destroy our country.

On their website they have a list of 10 orders they will not obey. The reason why shows they clearly understand the "natural law" basis of the Constitution. They will not obey the 10 orders "because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic."

Here is a summary of the 10 orders (full explanation of why they won't obey is on the post linked ot below as source)"

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.
2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control.”
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.
10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

They clearly understand what the Constitution says & what it means. They clearly understand their oath to uphold that Constitution they took when they enlisted. This is unlike so many of our elected officials who basicly have failed to do so. Thery clearly learned 1 of the lessons of WW II, that "just following orders" doesn't cut it when those orders are illegal or immoral or both.

I thank God for people like this who are serving my Country. I pray that their efforts to defend the Constitution & the Republic are successful. As they say: "We truly are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our troops." May they win that battle so the rest of us can continue to live free.
