Nazi Germany Meets 1984

The other day I wrote a post on the Missouri Information Analysis Center report dated 20 Feb 2009 on the Modern Militia Movement. (Are Rosaries Protected Under the 2nd Amendment? ) Another 1 focused on how we are following in Hitler's footsteps (To Anyone Who May Think I am Exagerating the Conce...) Then I came across this post on Thoughts of a Regular Guy: Newspeak Doubleplus Good. It was about the EU has banned its staff from using sexist language & requiring the use of "Gender Neutral" language instead. Paul's post got me to dig out my copy of Orwell's 1984.

I flipped back to the appendix, The Principles of Newspeak. Orwell explained that Newspeak was "devised to meet the ideological needs of Ingsoc." It was also aimed at making "all other modes of thought impossible" as well as "diminish the range of thought". In particular there was the B vocabulary, "words which had been deliberately constructed" to "impose a desirable mental attitude upon the person using them."

By now, I am sure that most of you can see where I am heading.

So, let's go back to the Missouri report & its definition of dangerous groups. About anyone who seriously supports the original intent of the Constitution or is Pro-life could be considered an extremist. I also made the statement that our Founding Fathers would meet their extremist definition. Well I found a section in that same appendix that upholds my theory:

"Prerevolutionary literature could only be subjected to ideological translation--that is, alteration in sense as well as language. Take for example the well-known passage from the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government . . .

It would have been quite impossible to render this into Newspeak while keeping to the sense of the original. the nearest one could come to doing so would be to swallow the whole passage up in the single word crimethink."

It goes on to point out that the only full translation would be an ideological 1.

Hopefully any last stragglers have caught on to my point. What the EU is doing, what the Missouri report (based on Homeland Security sources) is doing, is just that, creating a new language with new definitions that will enable them to impose their thought control & ideology upon us while preventing us from fighting back.

So welcome to the "Brave New World" (sorry couldn't resist) of the Obamaspeak here in the USA (I will allow other countries to create their own dialect). & REMEMBER:
