Today is International Women's Day. Radical feminists will have hijacked it for their own political purposes. Rather than honoring true feminists like Susan B. Anthony they will use it to promote the "culture of death". So here are some women who truly deserve being honored because they are living out their vocation as God would have them.
1st of all there is Mother Angelica PCPA, foundress of
Eternal Word Television Network . She has done so much to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ beyond what I can say here.
Mother is at
Our Lady of the Angels Monastery at Hanceville, AL. The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration at the Monastery are another group of women who are truly fulfilling their call by God to be a countersign to our culture.
The
The Intercessors of the Lamb in Omaha do just that, spend their time in prayer as well as training others for the powerful ministry of intercession. The
Sisters of Life spend their time in prayer as well as active Pro-Life ministry. I think they are the only order to be consecrated under a special, fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. The
Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, MI are dedicated to the spiritual & corporal works of Mercy. (Note: They began in 1973 in response to the renewal called for by Vatican II & show what is the true Spirit of Vatican II, not this false one that so many other orders have used as a justification to abandon the faith.)
The
Servants of God's Love serve the Church in a variety of ways.
The Apostles of the Interior Life are a group of consecrated women dedicate themselves to evangelization and to offering a service of spiritual assistance for the Interior formation of all who seek to know and love Jesus Christ.
Then there are the lay women like Judie Brown of American Life League; Dr. Theresa Burke, founder of Rachel's Vineyard; Janet Morana, P.D., Executive Director, Priests for Life &Co-Founder, Silent No More Awareness Campaign; Dr. Alveda C. King; Phyllis Schlafly, founder of The Eagle Forum. I could go on & on.
Then there many holy women who have gone to their heavenly reward. Here are just a few of the multitude of women the Catholic Church honors as saints:
Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
St. Frances Xavier Cabrini
St. Giuseppina Bahkita
St. Rafkha Shabaq al Rayes
St. Gianna Beretta Molla
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross
(Edith Stein)
St. Therese of Lisieux
St. Chiara (Clare) of Assisi
St. Catherine of Siena
St. Teresa of Avila
Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
& of course, the greatest woman of all time:
Blessed Virgin Mary
