The 5th Annual Walk for Life West Coast - 24 January 2009

The 5th Annual Walk for Life West Coast will be held in San Francisco on 24 January 2009, 2 days after the 36th March for Life. The 1st walk had over 7000 participants. Last year's Walk had over 25000 people participate. The West Coast Walk was started as an opportunity for those on the Left Coast who were unable to make the March in DC to still be able to stand up & speak out for the unborn.

Earlier this month a billboard promoting the event was put up in 1 of the busiest locations in the city, near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The bridge carries of 270,000+ cars according to the California DOT. The billboard is actually located at Fourth and Bryant Streets in San Francisco. It has the Walk's slogan "Abortion Hurts Women”. Besides the date & contact info for the 2009 Walk it has an 800 # to call for a post abortion help line. The help line is staffed by women who have themselves experienced abortion.

AS I said in my post on the DC March, The Main Stream Media (MSM) will be doing all it can to make it look like the Pro-Life movement is on the run & dying out. There is an added factor for teh MSM in this Walk. With the passage of Proposition 8 last year & the fact that San Francisco has seen at least 1 hate crime against Catholics with the recent vandalism of a Catholic Church, there is a lot of potential for the pro-abortions to cause trouble & the MSM to twist it. But that should NOT stop anyone from participating. The "culture of death" would love fear to keep people away. Don't let fear keep you away if you can go. Help the Walk to achieve its goals:

1) To be a vocal and visual message that people of the West Coast stand for life.

2) To reach out to women harmed by abortion.

3) To inform society of the damage done to women by abortion.
