Why Should This Question Even Have to Be Asked About A Catholic Education?

This question was on the front of an envelope I received a few days ago . It was a fundraiser for St. Michael the Archangel High School.

Should Catholic students be taught the Culture of Life?

The fact that this question even has to be asked says something very negative but unfortunately true about the current state of Catholic High Schools when a school uses what should be the norm as a selling point for supporting it &/or sending your children to it over most Catholic Schools.

But the other question makes a good point:

How different would America be if they did?

even if it should never have to have been asked in the 1st place.

I checked out the school website to decide about supporting it. Went to the FAQ page & found this:

What is a "Culture of Life" high school?

Saint Michael the Archangel High School is firmly committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the culture of life. In partnership with America’s foremost Catholic Pro-life organization, the American Life League (www.all.org), Saint Michael will begin adding to our curriculum in the fall of 2008. We will be adding courses, lectures and internships that espouse the culture of life and will allow our young people to go out into the world and make a difference for the better.

Let's just say that the ALL conection is enough to convince me they are serious about what they claim.

Besides that they have a dress code that includes a tie for the young men.
