& naturally it isn't letting the truth stand in the way of its goal to do so.
International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) recently released its annual performance report for 2007-2008. The report talks about ghow the IPPF is pushing its abortion agenda among its member associations in traditionally pro-life countries throughout Africa, Latin America and the Islamic world.
Let's see now, doesn't that list sound a lot like the groups that Sanger wanted targetted for sterilization to eliminate them because they were inferior?
Then there is their claiming the backing of the UN to accomplish their goals. IPPF Director General Gill Greer states that a new target under the Millennium Development Goal on maternal health for “universal access to sexual and reproductive health by 2015” was agreed to by the UN General Assembly in 2006. The problem is that that never happenned that way.
But PP does have many at the UN on its side. In 1 case it is the UN Population Fund.
In the report the IPPF bragged about their primary advocacy accomplishment, thier work in drafting, promoting and implementing the African Union’s Maputo Plan of Action,. That plan is a non-binding three-year action plan. It explicitly contains abortion targets and indicators that remain hotly contested among African nations.
IPPF is working with the UN Population Fund to advocate for the development of national action plans so that the implimentation of the Maputo Plan is sped up throughout the African continent. The IPPF has organized and initiated a series of meetings with government officials, civil society, regional economic communities and even the media to push the action plan.
