Danger Will Robinson - Subversive Alert

My friend Simplex Vir at American Rumpo has started a new series of posts on the documents that are the foundational roots of this country. While many of these documents may still get passing mention (emphasis on may) in US history classes in public (& many private) schools, it is almost certain that unless the student is homeschooled then what they really say is ignored.

I call what he is doing subversive because of what would happen if enough people, including our judges & politicians really knew the true history of the founding of our country.

From the 1st, the spread of the Gospel was at the heart of exploring the Western Hemisphere. My paisan, Cristofero Columbo (Columbus) gave as a main reason for his voyages the spread of the Catholic faith. 1 of his boats was named in honor of Mary (Santa Maria). Another, the Niña, was (despite what secularists claim) actual named in honor of the Christ Child. The name was feminine because ships were considered female. (Note: I have been on the replica of this ship. It was smaller than many of the boats that sail on the Mississippi. I came away with a much greater respect for what Columbus et al did in sailing the Atlantic.) I have also heard it said that the names of the 3 ships actually prophecied the appearance of Our Lady of Guadelupe & the miraculous image. Think about it, the Niña Pinta the Santa María. The little child (Christ) paints (the meaning of Pinta) The Blessed Virgin Mary.

In this day where teaching these facts is decried as violating the seperation of Church & state myth that is out there what he is doing is truly subversive as it serves to undermine their falsehoods about this country & what it is about.

I have never understood how these people who are crying freedom from religion could ever honestly interprate the 1st amendment that guarentees free expression of religion to support their claims. There is an answer to why many of them do. Many of them do it in honest ignorance of the truth. The truth that is kept from them by not only not teaching what the Constitution says but not teaching our seminal documents.

Simplex Vir is doing what he can to correct this. & if enough of us take up the challenge to get the word out there then those who try to kick God out will find out that their attempts are doomed to failure.
