The Gift That Keeps On KILLING

Just when you think that the "culture of death" can't reach a new low, I come across this on the American Papist blog.
Yes, you read that right, PP (of Indiana) is now offering gift certificates. & they are pushing them as Christmas gifts. Here is how they are promoting them (from the LifeNews article): "Looking for an unusual, yet practical gift this holiday season? Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is now offering gift certificates for services or the recipient's choice of birth control method."
In a news release PPIN president and CEO Betty Cockrum said: "Why not buy a loved one a gift this holiday season that they really need. The gift certificates are also a wonderful idea for that person in your life who puts everyone else first."
She added: "Please join Planned Parenthood of Indiana and give the gift of health this holiday season."
& while PPIN claims that the purpose of the certificates is reproductive health care, let's remember that for PP that includes abortion. & they admit that the certificates can be used for that purpose. In an interview with WISH-TV Chrystal Struben-Hall, PPIN's vice president said: "They really are intended for preventative healthcare. We decided not to put restrictions on the gift certificates so it's for whatever people feel they need the services for most."
Excuse me? Give a gift certificate for someone you know to be able to have an abortion to celebrate the birth of Christ?
Where do I start with how wrong this is? Jesus said that He came to bring us life. Now, PP wants to celebrate the birth of the "Author of Life" by your giving the gift of death. Sick, sick, sick. Evil at its blasphemous worst.
PPIN calls this giving the gift of health. This isn't God's idea of health. This is Satan's idea of spiritual sickness & death.
Like Indiana Family Institute President Curt Smith, I am appalled by this whole concept. He has the right idea, instead of supporting PP with the gift of death, give a gift of life by donating to a crisis pregnancy center. "I think the way to help family planning is to give the money where there's no agenda. So if somebody wants to help a woman at a time of crisis, they can support the life centers throughout Indiana."
While they haven't reached this point yet, what scares me is the direction the ads may take under Obama's presidency. Down the road I can see ads where a guy is talking to his friend about getting his girlfriend pregnant. He is upset, doesn't want the responsibility & doesn't know how to approach the idea of her getting an abortion. The friend suggests he contact PP & get a gift certificate to help her pay for the abortion. The suggetstion in the ad will be that doing so will enable the guy to show how much he really cares. But, the subtext will be that the friend is helping the father to be get off the hook. & I could go on from there, but even as I type this, my stomach is getting way too queasy at the thought that ads like this are possible.
With the "culture of death" reaching this new low with an infamia like this, how much longer before God will have no choice but to allow us to face the chastisement our country is all but begging for & so richly deserve.
