Another Reason Why I Am Glad I Supported Ron Paul for President

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Former presidential candidate Ron Paul is the latest to highlight the damage incoming president Barack Obama could do if he promotes abortion the way he promised during the campaign. Paul says Obama's policies could easily ruin the health care industry rather than improve it.
Citing Obama's "strident rhetoric" in favor of promoting abortion Paul says his first concern is that Obama
would overturn protections that make it so Americans aren't forced to fund abortions.
"The incoming administration has threatened a whole host of policies that would not only reduce restrictions on abortion, but would
actually force people who wish to avoid participating in the procedure to support it," Paul wrote in a Monday editorial.
Paul added: "As a physician who has delivered over 4,000 babies I am very disturbed by the ... notion that taxpayers should be forced to subsidize life-ending procedures such as abortion...."
Paul is also worried about
Obama's pledge to sign the so-called Freedom of Choice Act, a Congressional bill that would make unlimited abortions a national law and overturn hundreds of state laws that reduce abortions.
The Texas congressman says he's greatly concerned by the recent news that "many health care facilities under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Church
may be shut down as a result of the FOCA for refusal to perform abortions."
"Not only does this Act seem to have growing support in Congress, the President-elect and his Administration have indicated support for this legislation. Since many people cast their votes in a way that they believed would help to improve and increase availability of health care, this is an ironic twist," Paul says.
Paul says all Americans should be concerned that this Obama-supported bill will make it so those medical centers and personnel who don't want to be involved in abortions "are forced out of the marketplace."
Further, Paul says the bill and Obama's support for it show he is more interested in dictating abortion policy than improving the health care system.
The measure and its effects "go to show that the incoming Congress and Administration are far more dedicated to a government takeover than they are to affordable and available health care."
