Support Your Local Pregnancy Center

Unlike Planned Parenthood's legal robbery of taxpayers via our state & federally elected representatives, most pregnancy centers don't get any federal funds. There are a few states that do give some support, & when they do, PP has a case of apoplexy. Here are 2 examples of how PP goes ballistic:

"The Crisis Pregnancy Centre of Ottawa, operating under the registered business name First Place Pregnancy Centre, issued a Statement of Claim Tuesday against Planned Parenthood Ottawa and two of its representatives before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. First Place alleges that Planned Parenthood Ottawa interfered with critical funding and defamed their charity putting the charity and the women they serve at risk.

On Monday, November 26th, 2007 the wives and girlfriends of the Ottawa Senators announced the launch of their holiday fundraiser, the "SENSational Tree Raffle", naming First Place as one of three chosen charities. The following day, Planned Parenthood Ottawa issued a press release in which it is alleged that they made false and defamatory statements about First Place. Planned Parenthood's actions caused First Place to withdraw from the fundraiser and forego the thousands of dollars that could have assisted First Place and its clients." Why does PP get so upset? Simple, when money goes to a pregnancy center, it is taking money away from PP. It does so in 2 ways. 1st it means less money from the government for them. 2nd, & the more important reason, when a woman goes to a pregnancy center she usually decides against having an abortion. When she has the child rather than an abortion, there goes another of PP's "cash cows". & that is exactly how they see those women, as a source of income. & if in doing so, they can advance Margaret Sanger's eugenics program, so much the better.

I've pointed out before, that PP's buddies at Guttmacher have unwitingly undermined their claims about birth control reducing abortions so I won't go there.

What I will go to is the real purpose of this post, to encourage my readers to support their local pregnancy center. These centers do a lot on a little. Most have shoestring budgets. They depend on volunteers & donations. They need your help. Without it, they can't offer the alternatives to PP & their ilk needed to build the "Culture of Life".

There are many ways you can help. Obviously, a cash donation of any size is needed & will be welcome. But there are other ways you can help. You can volunteer your time to help at the center (may require some training. They are often in need of items like diapers & other needs for the women, during & after the pregnancy. Call your local center to ask them what they need.

Here in DBQ we are blessed with 2 centers. I have previously talked about how the Clarity Clinic is working on training people with a 4-D ultrasound. Birthright is doing as much as it can as well. & while we outnumber PP 2 to 1, PP still has the bigger bankroll. Sadly, some places don't even have 1 pregnancy center. Iowa City is a prime example. There are 3 places where an unborn child can be murdered via abortion, but no pregnancy centers. fortunately some people have seen the need for an alternative to the death mongers. Informed Choice of Iowa (IC3) is trying to change that. They have secured a site & are working on it to get it ready for use. They need people who can do construction, plumbers, electricians, painters & carpenters. They also need various materials, as well as monitary contributions.

Again, I ask that if you have a pregnancy center nearby, please help them out. If not, any of the centers I have listed in the right hand column will gladly take donations. Please contact any 1 of them.

& as always, pray. Pray for God to bless the centers. Pray for God to guide women to the centers rather than abortion mills. Pray for an end to abortion. & do all you can to help the centers meet their needs.
