It WILL Be Interesting to See If Pelosi, Biden or Harkin Welcomed Them

Priests for Life is turning up the heat in DC with a "Is This What You Mean By Abortion" tour of the halls of Congress.

On Tuesday they dispatched a delegation to Congress that included: Fr. Frank Pavone, Fr. Peter West, Fr. Denis Wilde, Fr. Victor Salomon, Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate and the niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. & Jim Pinto, Pastoral Associate and Coordinator of our Lay Missionaries of the Gospel of Life.

Their plan: Confront pro-abortion politicians! Show them actual diagrams of the two most common abortion procedures - "Suction Curettage" and "D and E". (Click here to see the diagrams.) Provide them with quotations from abortionists that we uncovered in "how to" abortion textbooks and court testimony. (Click here to read some of the quotes.) Define what "abortion" actually means using those diagrams and quotes. And then challenge them to answer this critical question: "When you say the word ‘abortion,’ is this what you mean?"

According to Fr. Pavone: "The purpose of our "Walking the Halls of Congress" mission is to get Americans to hear the descriptions of what abortion is. When that's the starting point of the debate, we win.
Keep in mind, this comes before any discussion of the legality or morality of abortion. All we're asking of pro-abortion lawmakers is what they mean by the word "abortion."
Anyone who evades the question will demonstrate an unwillingness to face what abortion is. That evasion raises the further question as to why someone would support the legal continuation of a procedure they cannot even bring themselves to describe.
After all, anyone who uses the word "abortion" ought to be able to answer what the word means.
Once lawmakers go on record answering - or evading - our question, we will publicize their answers or evasions to their constituents. In this way there will be no misunderstanding on what lawmakers do in fact mean when they say they support abortion."

It is clear that many of them are playing games, either evading the question, or confusing the issue. As Fr. Pavone points out: "That fact was made abundantly clear when two high-profile "Catholic" politicians tried to hide their pro-abortion positions by "intellectualizing" the matter. They talked in vague terms about when human life begins and falsely stated that the Church has been unclear on this for centuries.
Well, we're not asking them to play the role of theologian or philosopher.
All we want them to do is be the public servant they were elected to be and let us know whether or not they support allowing "doctors" to brutally tear apart innocent babies in the womb. To rip their legs and arms from their tiny bodies. To crush their skulls with powerful forceps. To slash their necks with razor-sharp scissors and suck out their brains.
That's the gruesome reality of abortion and it's about time these politicians were forced to admit whether this is what they support when they vote to protect "abortion."

It will be interesting to see how my 1st district rep, Congressman Braley, & Senator Harkin reacted. (Memo to Des Moines Diocese Bishop, Richard E. Pates: I know it is a toss up as to who really has jurisdiction over Harkin, you or the Bishop in the Bahamas where his real residence is. However, he claims to still be from Cumming, Iowa, so that gives you all the jurisdiction you need to go after him. Please do so!!!!!)
