NOAH!!!!!!!!!!

The last couple of weeks in Iowa have seen a lot of thunderstorms, hail, tornadoes & esp rain. The flooding is reaching the 500 yr level in many areas. DBQ has a floodwall which protects much of the Eastern part of the city. & much of the rest of the city is up on the bluffs. Those areas are sometimes so wet that walking on the grass is more like walking on a sponge than grass. Even so, we are seeing some areas arround the Couler Valley area flodding. Damage has been done to Heritage Trail. US 52 was closed by Durango. & we are seeing DBQ become the detour for Interstate 80 because parts of it West of Davenport are flooded.
Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Independence, Des Moines, I could go on & on, are flooded. I see pictures of those cities & see areas that I know & they look like lakes. Railroad bridges & road bridges are washed out. So far, 83 of our 99 counties have been declared disaster areas.
Farmers are unable to plant. This will affect a lot of people far beyond Iowa as a result.
It is a difficult time for us. But, Iowans are a resiliant bunch. We will survive. & with the grace of God, we will come back stronger.
Still, sometimes there needs to be a little humor to get through it all. & I have been thinking a lot about the old Bill Cosby bit on Noah. So far I haven't seen any 600 yr olds building an ark.
