I Think This Says A lot About How The Dems View the Constitution. . . .

Given that before the 2006 elections the Dems were gung ho about impeaching President Bush, it is interesting that Speaker Nancy Pelosi doesn't see it as worth the time because she doesn't see it as something they could suceed in doing. (Maybe because she knows he's done nothing impeachable.) Or so she said to ePluribus Media bloggers Mike Stark & Dave Johnson in a recent interview. When asked by Mike Stark if defending the Constitution was worth it:

"Well, yeah, the Constitution is worth it if you can succeed,” replied Pelosi.

The impication being that it isn't worth it if you can't suceed. What a far cry from what our Founding Fathers felt when the signed the Declaration of Independence: "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." They were willing to lay everything on the line & risk losing for something they felt worth dying for.

Given how little they value the original intent of the authors of the Constitution, let alone the Constitution itself, this shouldn't be a surprize to anyone that the Dems don't see it worth being defended esp if they might lose the battle.
