Mr. Wizard

On Tuesday, 12 June 2007 at about 9:00 am PDT Don Herbert, affectionate known by us multitudes of baby boomers as Mr. Wizard, passed away. He was born on 10 July 1917 in Waconia, MN. He graduated from LaCroose State Teachers College in 1940 with degrees in English & General Science. In 1951 he 1st went on the air with his show. I know that what I am about to say has been said so many times that it almost seems trite. Yet, it is no less true because so many people feel this way. What he did was make science fun & understandable to the average person. I know that I always enjoyed seeing what he had up his sleeve when I saw him on his or another show. Many others followed, none equaled him.
Mille grazie, Mr. Wizard for making science fun to learn.
