I Cannot Tell A Lie, My Grandfather Was George Washington

& today is his birthday.

Yup, my grandfather, George Washington Troup was born on this day in 1864 in Maryland.

& no, I didn't mispell his last name. The e was added to my dad's name when he was in school at Sacred Heart in Oelwein. Family legend is that he went to talk to the nun who added it to the names of those going to Sacred Heart. He was told that it was him, not the nun mispelling the name. Don't know if that is true, but it does make for a good story.
