An Interesting Contrast

Saturday I got the latest newsletter from Choices Medical Clinic (Informed Choices of Iowa Corporation, Iowa City - IC3), a crisis pregnancy center that I support. As I looked at it the box on the left of the front page caught my eye. The reason it did so was because of what I saw. It included their staff list & some other interesting info. It was in complete contract to the claims made of how CPCs are accused of not giving accurate medical information. & how this list proved the truth is was so much different.

Choices staff includes an ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner), a RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) a RN with a BSN degree & 2 doctors, 1 a medical director, the other a radiologist. they also have an MD on their advisory committee.

I found this list an interesting contrast to the fact that Planned Parenthood-Heartland is operating with 1 doctor for all their clinics where they perform chemical abortions. Add to that all the evidience Live Action has provided that shows how PP gives out faulty if not downright false medical information.

Yet, it is the CPCs that are attacked for misleading the women who go to them.

Yes, many of the CPCs don't have the staff like the IC clinic. But that doesn't mean they give out false info. In fact they do have to meet certain standards of training. & those that do ultrasounds have to meet state medical standards for training. & that training or the equipment doesn't come cheap. (Another reason that PP & other abortion providers are opposed, the costs eat into their profits.)

& these CPCs also make it clear what they do or don't do. For instance Birthright says: "Birthright presents many services and refers for many more. We provide friendship and emotional support, free pregnancy testing, and maternity and baby clothes. We also give information and referrals to help clients meet legal, medical, financial, and housing needs. Birthright treats each woman as an individual who deserves kindness and respect, as well as personal attention to her unique situation." They make it clear they are there to offer alternatives to abortion.

Care Net: "Care Net, however, seeks a more immediate route by supporting one woman at a time, to spare her and her unborn child the anguish of abortion."; "At Care Net, we believe that abortion is often the result of a lack of resources, education, and support. Our local centers offer practical, compassionate ways to remove the barriers that cause women to choose abortion and provide the opportunity for every woman to make positive choices for herself and for her unborn children."

I could go on & on. All those I list on the right make it clear what the do or don't offer. & they make it clear they exist to provide alternatives to abortions.

& that is the real reason the abortion industry hates CPCs is simple, they eat into their profits. & even they admit it. "Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) exist to keep women from having abortions." (National Abortion Federation) & to attack the CPCs, they are the ones telling the lies.

On their website the NAF says that at CPCs " women are told that some birth control methods, especially emergency contraception (also known as the morning after pill), are actually abortifacients." Yet, it is the NAF that is lying. They know that they are abortafacients.

Other things the NAF claims are lies yet know are they truth: "CPCs mislead women about abortion procedures. Women are told that abortions are painful, life-threatening procedures that will leave them with long-term emotional, physical, and psychological damage. They are often told that having an abortion will put them at higher risk for developing breast cancer, post-traumatic stress disorder, infertility, and other serious medical conditions." The NAF knows that it isn't CPCs that are doing the misleading, it is the abortion industry.

The Abortion industry hates the fact that CPCs prevent abortions. On the same webpage I got some of the other info they say: "CPCs have used tactics intended to delay and even harass or intimidate women from having abortions." Nothing about CPCs providing alternatives, just that CPCs keep women from having abortions in ways the NAF misrepresent because they hate the fact CPCs suceed in providing alternative choices the abortion industry doesn't want women to have.

Another thing the NAF hates is the fact that many of these clinics show what an abortion really is. They hate those pictures of the victims of abortion, not because they are "alledged" pictures, but because those pictures are the truth. In fact some pro-aborts consider showing those pictures as terrorism.*

So the next time you hear someone from the abortion industry attacking the local Crisis Pregnancy Center you now know why. It is because CPCs are the only place that offer a choice besides abortion. As I have said before, abortion promoters love to hide behind the term pro-choice. Yet, they go bonkers when someone offers other choices to having the abotion. They are not pro-choice, they are the true anti-choice people. They don't want women to have a choice, just to have an abortion. & that is never a viable choice, for the woman or the baby.
