On the Yahoo home page there was a link to an article entitled
How to Save $250 in 30 Days. Out of curiosity I decided to see what practical ideas it had. As I scanned it most of them seemed common sense. But then I came across this:
"Save $21 to $31: Lots of brand-name birth-control pills have generic versions that are way cheaper. Ask your gyno if your designer Rx has a generic twin."
After I saw this I discovered that this was from Cosmopolitan magazine which explained it. The are known for promoting immoral lifestyles. & this fits in perfectly with that mentality. Sin & save money doing it. Like that is going to do any good should you end up in Hell.
But my point is that this just shows how main stream the "culture of death" is that this is considered nothing to even blink at. Despite all the proof of the harm that the Pill causes that has been well documented (
The Pill Kills), we still extol these things because it fits in to the already mentioned imoral cultural mentality.
This also serves to remind us how counter-culture a truly Catholic lifestyle is. & has been since the start. The world mocks us for speaking up & calling sin sin. People from within & without the Church push for us to conform to the world. Those within often try to push the false "Spirit of Vatican II" down our throats to justify it.
Actually Vatican II said just the opposite.
"The Church believes that Christ died and rose for all, and can give man light and strength through his Spirit to fulfil his highest calling; his is the only name under heaven in which men can be saved.
So too the Church believes that the centre and goal of all human history is found in her Lord and Master.
The Church also affirms that underlying all changes there are many things that do not change; they have their ultimate foundation in Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and for ever." (emphais mine)
- From the
pastoral constitution on the Church in the Modern World (
Gaudium et Spes )
Sin is still sin, abortion & artificial birth control are wrong, pre-marital sex, extramarital sex & homosexual relationships are sinful. & saving money on your birth control pills doesn't make it any less sinful.
