Keep On Praying

I have been & I urge everyone else to do so as well.
For those who think the passage of Obamacare is a “done deal,” Phyllis Schlafly, attorney and long-time conservative activist, calls upon the faithful to remember the key role prayer has played in political struggles in the past.
“In the midst of our current battle against the looming government-takeover of one-sixth of the U.S. economy, I would like to take a few moments to recall an inspiring story from my days fighting against the feminists’ Equal Rights Amendment (ERA),” she wrote in an e-mail alert sent to all members of her Eagle Forum.
The ERA was a constitutional amendment designed by radical feminists who wanted a gender-neutral society in which men and women would be treated exactly the same, no matter how important it might be to respect differences between them. The amendment, which states that “equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex,” was the chosen vehicle to achieve this goal.
On the surface, it would seem reasonable to support such an amendment and, as Schlafly explains, most everyone did.
“Unlike our present battle, all ‘the powers that be’ were against us back then - both houses of Congress, three Presidents (Nixon, Ford, and Carter), all of the First Ladies, all the Hollywood celebrities, 99% of the media, and even a large percentage of the American public.”

Without prayer, I am 100 percent sure we will lose. With it, the consciences of wavering members can be lifted up and emboldened. While we are not a religious organization, we cannot succeed without prayer as the wind in our sails. So will you please take just a few minutes, join the 280,760 members of our SBA List family around our virtual dining room table and pray that this bill fails and our nation's children will be protected from the carnage that would result from its passage? This is a defining moment when prayer -- our most powerful lobbying tool-- cannot be left on the table.

The leaders -- especially Bart Stupak, Eric Cantor, Michele Bachmann, John Boehner and Mike Pence who have led the charge in these final days to protect Life and warn others that THIS IS NOT A GAME, need our support and prayer. Pray that they enter the battle this weekend with the same energy and courage and love they have shown thus far.

Also, here is a list of undecided Members of Congress that so you can pray for each by name. These folks are under intense pressure on all sides. Their struggles do not go unnoticed, but pray that through all the clutter they see the clearest reminder of what this is about: the babies that will be lost if this bill passes.

My Dannenfelser family here will join you, and we will also be lifted up by this community, as I know you will.

E-mail I got from Connie Hardie
Subject: Pray for right healthcare reform

Friends,
Join me in asking any and all who can, to pray for our government to make the right decisions on healthcare reform. (The vote will likely take place this Sunday.)

We will be praying at St. Joseph the Worker Church from noon to 3pm, this Sunday. Please come and pray. Storm the heavens with your prayers. A rosary will be led at noon, 1pm, and 2pm. (If you can't pray in Church, pray wherever you are!)

Father Mark Ressler has agreed to announce this at each weekend (SJW) Mass; but on short notice, we need to get the word out far and wide.
Please notify as many people as you can via e-mail or phone.

This is not a political event. It's a prayer event. We are asking people to pray for God's Holy Spirit to guide the decision making on heathcare, that His will be done, that God and man work together to protect and honor His creation and this great nation.

God bless you.
Connie Hardie
& this is only a small sample of the call to prayer. I have said it time & time again, prayer is the where we must start & end. Prayer must undergird all our efforts. THIS IS SPIRITUAL WAR WE ARE IN. & SPIRITUAL WEAPONS ARE HOW WE ARE GOING TO WIN IT.
