For Some Reason I Doubt If This Will Be Appearing On My Menu This Lent
According to the 2009 Lenten regulations for the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it is permissible to eat alligator on the Fridays of Lent. Their website states:
To abstain from meat means refraining from eating beef, veal, pork, or poultry at least, although not necessarily eggs, milk products, or meat broths or condiments made from animal fat. The consumption of fish, shellfish, and reptiles (e.g., turtle, alligator) is permitted if desired.

I've never eaten alligator, but I've heard that it's quite good. 'd give it a try if it was on the menu.
