"We just want to remind people that this switching from Anglicans becoming Roman Catholics goes both ways," Sutton said. "Many, many laypeople in our churches came from the Roman Catholic Church. We get many clergy."
I am willing to bet that if you checked out those who went over you would find that they are all dissident Catholics in Name Only (CINO) & not real Catholics. & that they are looking for a place that will allow them to deny the basic tennets of Christianity & condone sinful lifestyles as well. & if you want the un-faithful CINOs, well Bishop, you can have them.
In fact I've got a not so little list (with apologies to
Gilbert & Sullivan) of those us authentic Catholics would gladly give to you. We can start with the membership of such groups as Call to Action & Voice of the Faithful; Bishops like Weakland & Gumbleton; alledged nuns like Joan Chittister & most of the Dominicans at Sinsinawa (& no, you can't have the site. That stays with us so we can bring in some faithful Dominicans.) Priests like Notre Dame's McBrien & Jenkins; the staff of the Non-Catholic Reporter; & I am sure my readers could add to that list as well.
Bishop Sutton calls the Episcopal Church "a big-tent church". Well Bishop, if you want a circus, you can have it. & you can have as many of those clowns who are dissident CINOs as you want. IMHO you will be laughing all the way down the highway to Hell. But when you get there you will be in for a rude awakening.

Note: He is the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese where 10 nuns from the Society of All Saints’ Sisters of the Poor in Catonsville joined the Catholic Church. (
Nuns With Good Habits: Crossing the Tiber Edition) Also, in checking out the diocesan website I found plenty of proof that the old saying "If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything." is true. & I love the "happy face" mask they painted about the sisters crossing the Tiber. (OK, you can read a little sarcasm in that last sentence.)
