Who Are Really the Violent Ones? - Not the Pro-Life Movement

As has been the pro-abortion mantra for ages, it is the Pro-life people who promote violence. & it only got louder after the recent murder of Tiller. Yet, recent events have proven things to be just the opposite. The rally violent people are those who support abortion.

When ever there is violence against an abortion provider the person who does it is usually someone who's connection to the Pro-life movement is tenuous at best. & is immediately condemned by the Pro-life movement because it is against everything we stand for.

But what we have seen recently is that the violence that abortion supporters do to pro-lifers is often done by those at the heart of the pro-abortion side. The recent incidents in Rockford are a prime example of that. The building owner involved in a hate crime, an employee alledgedly hitting a man praying in front of the clinic with his vehicle.

That is not surprizing though when you think about it. After all, the heart of the abortion industry is the murder of the innocent unborn by violent means. Violence oft begets violence. These people see violence as the way of intimidating us in the pro-life movement. I have seen it 1sthand myself in the way we have been treated down in Iowa City. Pure unadulterated hatred against us that is at times plainly demonic in its origin.

The Pro-life movement is modeled on Martin Luther King's idea of non-violent protest. Like Rev. King we believe in prayer & peaceful protest. Our goal is to end abortion. But it also includes the salvation of those involved in the abortion industry as well. Our motive is done out of love, love for the mother as well as the child. Love for the father. & for the nurses doctors etc who work at the clinic as well.

We know that we are in a spiritual battle, not a physical one. The only weapons we use are those of truth & prayer. & we do all in love. Charity in truth is our byword, just like the Pope's recent encyclical said.

That is why we support places like Birthright, Care-Net & other crisis pregnancy centers that offer alternatives. Our goal is not to merely stop abortion & leave the woman abandoned as the pro-abortion side tries to paint us.

Sadly, there will be a few misguided souls who will use violence against abortion providers. But they will never be a real part of the Pro-life movement. & their actions will NEVER be approved by us.

But the same cannot be said about those on the abortion side. Violence, as I said, is at the heart of what they do. & to disavow violence will be to disavow abortion itself.
