Another Myth Shattered: RU-486 Increases, Doesn't Decrease Number of Surgical Abortions

Once again we see that politics trumps safety when it comes to the abortion issue. It is again clear that the "culture of death" is not concerned about women, just increasing the number of people harmed or killed by any means possible.

A new study shows that RU-486 increases the risk for surgical intervention to complete an abortion.
The study shows that is the case in 17 to 23 percent of RU-486 cases. Dr. Donna Harrison, president of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, tells OneNewsNow there was limited information available when the Food and Drug Administration approved the drug.
"Eight percent failed when a person was seven weeks pregnant or less, and 17 percent failed between the gestational age of seven and eight weeks," she explains. "And if you get past eight weeks, almost a fourth -- 23 percent -- failed at 57 to 63 days, which is between eight and nine weeks."
Harrison contends that means the FDA rushed the drug onto the market without adequate research.
"Normally the FDA has to have two double-blinded, randomized, controlled trials in order to approve a drug," she points out. "Mifepristone approval, RU-486, had basically no controls at all."
Which means women and girls are being used as guinea pigs and are paying a price.
