Janet Morana, Priests for Life Executive Director, Honored for Her Work

Janet Morana is being awarded the 2009 Cardinal John O’Connor Pro-Life Award for her Pro-Life work. She is receiving it at the 2009 Legatus International Summit that is currently being held in Bermuda.
This award was established by Legatus in 2001. The award is given annually to individuals who have “demonstrated courageous Christian witness in defending the sanctity of all human life.”
Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, had this to say about her receiving the award: "Janet is very deserving of this award, not only for the work she has done to make Priests for Life such a successful ministry, but also for being the Co-Founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, the largest mobilization of women and men who have lost children to abortion. Janet also travels and speaks worldwide at the invitation of dioceses, universities (including in Rome!), and pro-life groups, and is a well-known personality on television and radio. Congratulations, Janet, on this award!"
Elsewhere Fr. Pavone had this to say: “Janet has been one of the unsung heroes of the pro-life movement. This award is a tribute to all those, like Janet, who have labored selflessly for the most vulnerable and helpless in our society.” Fr. Pavone added: “This award is doubly meaningful in that Cardinal O’Connor authorized me to come to Priests for Life 15 years ago, allowing Janet, who was working for me at the time, to also begin an official role in the pro-life movement. It’s a very, very special moment.”
Congratulations Janet. I am sure Cardinal O'Connor is smiling down from Heaven as you received it.
