With the election results & the aftermath, I haven't had time to give a wrap-up on the Fall 2008
40 Days for Life. & while things seem a bit dark on the political scene, at the grassroots level God has done some powerful things through the prayer & efforts of those participating in the Fall event.
1st of all at least 543 lives were saved from abortion. That means the Fall 2008 campaign is the most successful of all as the total lives saved for all campaigns is 1000. Still, this is a drop in the ocean when compared to the total number of abortions. Yet, every life saved is something to rejoice & praise God for.
But there is more. Several people have quit their jobs in the abortion industry, and clinics have advertised immediate openings on their staffs. Apparently some people where convicted of their sins. They felt shame at their actions. This is something PP mocked on its faux employee blog. PP tried, but God will not be mocked.
A number of abortion centers have been closed on days when abortions are usually performed. This fact tells me that the actual number of lives saved is much higher than the 543 known. How many women who were considering an abortion didn't because the clinics were closed won't be known until the Last Judgment, but I am sure there will be several souls there rejoicing that they were.
Speaking of closings, Day 37 saw a "Space Available" real estate sign was put in front of the building where a group was praying. Monday, On 3 November 2008 the local leader confirmed with the real estate company that the abortionist is shutting the business down for good. Full details are not yet available, but 1 more murder mill has bit the dust.
Again PP & their minions in the "culture of death" mocked the prayer efforts, saying their time would have been better spend elsewhere. Looking at the above facts, I'd say their time praying outside the abortion mills was definitely time well spent.
Again, the full fruit of this campaign won't be known until eternity. Given the preliminary reports, I'd say that what we know is just the tip of the iceberg of what God accomplished.
