1 of the blogs I regularly read is Gerald Augustinus' The Cafeteria is Closed. Gerald is also an excellent photographer. He recently posted this photo he took of the ceiling of St. Ignatius Church (Sant' Ignazio di Loyola a Campo Marzio) in Rome. (To really get the full effect of the ceiling go to this link.) Talk about being swept up into Heaven. It was painted by Andrea Pozzo toward the end of the 17th Century (1685).
As I said Gerald is a photographer. Normally I don't plug products or merchandise, but in this case I am making an exception. This picture is a part of a newly released DVD with about 1000 photos of Rome, Assisi, Siena & Florence taken by Gerald.
