This is a Headline I Hoped That I would Never See (Another INFAMIA)

Judge: Same-Sex Couples Can Wed in Iowa (ABC News)

Meanwhile, here in Iowa, the 1st Des Moines Register website headline BREAKING NEWS: Polk judge rules against gay marriage ban was followed by these stories: Couples line up at recorder's office, Newlyweds acted fast to beat the clock & finally a bit of temporary good news: Gay marriage ruling put on hold.
What happened is that Thursday a Polk Co. judge, Robert Hanson, ruled that state's prohibition on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. The ruling was limited to Polk County & on Friday the judge issued a stay until the ruling could be appealed by Polk County Attorney John Sarcone. It will be appealed to the Iowa Supreme Court who could refer it to the Iowa Court of Appeals, hear the appeal or refuse to do anything. Meanwhile 2 Iowa State University students were able to get a licence & find a Unitarian minister to perform the ceremony before the stay was issued.
It has long been a goal by those who support same-sex marriages to win a ruling like this in Iowa. They see Iowa as a bellwether for this issue. If they can get Iowa to recognize same-sex marriages then they know that they have all but won the battle to get what even they know in the hearts is against God's divine plan legalized accross the USA.
This ruling CANNOT stand. To allow it to stand is for the US & Iowa in particular to further turn its back on God. Right now I am ready to suggest that Iowa change it's state song from Song of Iowa to AC/DC's Highway to Hell because that is exactly where we are heading by allowing same-sex marriage, abortion, euthenasia etc.
I have known about this ruling for almost 24 hrs. Part of me can't believe it happenned. Part of me is not surprized that a judge was found to rule this way. If it was to happen in Iowa, I figured that it would either be a Polk or Johnson Co. judge who would do it.
This ruling has no basis in anything found in the Iowa or the Federal constitutions. This ruling is on a par with the Dred Scott & Roe v Wade rulings by the US Supreme Court. Dred Scott had to be overturned by an amendment & (unfortunately with activist judges like this) an amendment to the US & Iowa constitutions is the only way to ensure that this wrong ruling is permanantly righted. House Minority Leader Christopher Rants, R-Sioux City, is right in his call for an amendment to the Iowa Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
All I can add is that I will be joining in with others in Iowa to pray that the Supreme Court will overturn this ruling. & that Iowa will ensure that same-sex marriages will NEVER be legal here.
(Judge Hanson's ruling, hold)
