Fred Thompson. (sort of)

A couple weeks ago I compared the similarities betwen the rumors of the Motu Proprio allowing greater usage of the Tridentine Mass & when Fred Dalton Thompson would announce his candadicy for president. (It's Unofficially Official) It looks like Fred Thompson has all but made it official with the launching of a website called I'm With Fred. It is actually run by Friends of Fred Thompson. But it is clearly with his OK.

It still doesn't have much. It is mainly a fundraising site. But I am sure more will be added as time goes on & Fred Thompson makes it official.

In the old days it used to be big news when someone officially announced his candidacy for the presidency. Now, by the time he/she makes the official announcement an exploratory committee has been arround for a while & a whole bunch of money has been raised. All the announcement does is confirms what everyone (except a few naive people) already knew. The big news is when someone goes through all this & then decides not to run.

But, this doesn't mean a complete end to the speculation. There is still the guessing about when he will actually make it official. So, stayed tuned, the actual release of the Moto Proprio may still win the race for becoming official.
