Let the Bishops Know We Want Them to Act
I received the below e-mail that talks about the Frank Rega article I posted a couple days ago (Well USCCB, Are You Up to This Challenge?). It gives us a voice to get the message out to our Bishops that we expect them to do the right thing & be the shepherds they are called to be. Too many of them are unwilling to offend a few powerful people because they think that the average person in the pew won't care, or if they do, won't do anything. It is time to disabuse them of that notion. & here is a way to do it.

Yes, the USCCB should have a strategic policy in place to deal with Catholic politicians that support FOCA. This is what we are asking Cardinal George in our petition drive. Thirty Catholic legislators signed on to co-sponsor FOCA previously.
They can be viewed here: http://www.onenationundergod.org/pl_freedom_of_choice_act.html. We are asking the local ordinary to invite these confused Catholics and the 82 Catholic legislators accepting money from the abortion lobby into spiritual direction.
This false public witness for decades has eroded our Catholic culture and incorrectly led Catholics to believe they can support abortion rights even though they are personally opposed.

Please don't say "support abortion "rights"".
Say "support abortion crime" (which is what this killing of human beings is).
Or say "oppose unborn human rights".
We must win the battle of the language and not buy into the drivel and doublespeak of those who oppose unborn human rights.

Lisa and Allen, thanks for making me aware of the petition, which I just submitted. I would suggest an item 4 be added. Item 3 reminds the bishops to speak individually to these politicians. For item 4, if a politican has been privately admonished by the bishops, and they still sign FOCA, then they should be publicly rebuked and denounced by the USCCB as a whole.
